China's first carbon neutral trade based on carbon footprint verification was finalized Tuesday at the Tianjin Climate Exchange (TCX), said Mu Lingling, TCX's deputy general manager.
Other parties involved in the trade include buyer Shanghai-based Pacific Millennium (China) Packaging & Paper Industries, seller Xiamen-based HSE Environmental Engineering Consulting, and carbon footprint service provider SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services.
"Pacific Millennium paid a consideration to HSE in an attempt to offset 6,266 tons of carbon it emitted from January 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009,"Mu told the Global Times Tuesday, providing no further details about the deal.
