weekly steel production fell 0.8% from last year

According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), American steel production for the week ending February 22, 2020 amounted to 1,901,000 tons, and production facilities were used at 81.5%. US steel production for the corresponding week of last year was 1.917.000 tons, and the capacity utilization rate was 82.4%. 

Thus, current production data showed a decrease of 0.8% compared to the previous year and a decrease of 0.3% from the previous week (1,907,000 tons, 81.8%).
