Egyptian gold miner Centamin said its gold production in 2020 will be 510-540 thousand ounces.
According to the results of the fourth quarter of 2019, its gold production (at Sukari) amounted to 148.387 thousand ounces. According to the results of the whole year, the production of precious metals amounted to 480.529 thousand ounces, with a total cost of $ 792 per ounce sold.
The company also announced plans to reformat and strengthen its management team.
Centamin intends to invest $ 20 million in exploration outside Egypt, on projects Doropo, Batie West and ABC. The total capital investment in Egyptian projects should reach $ 190 million, including $ 37 million in a solar power plant.
According to the company, the commissioning of a solar power plant will allow it to reduce diesel consumption by 18 million liters per year. Its construction should begin in the second quarter of this year.
