Latest news - At present, the government of North Surigao, Philippines has officially signed documents that foreign ships (regardless of nationality and original nationality) will be prohibited from entering North Surigao Province from March 18 to March 31.
According to statistics, nickel ore mines in the region are mainly AMRI, HMC, TMC, and PGMC. In 2019, nickel ore shipments in North Surigao region accounted for approximately 34.90% of total national shipments, of which low nickel ore shipments accounted for approximately Surigao ’s shipments are 30.60%, and the nickel ore shipments account for about 69.40% of North Surigao ’s shipments.
China is the top importer of Philippine nickel ore, and its imports of nickel ore have been low so far this year as Indonesia banned exports from January and Surigao remained in the wet season. Inventories of nickel ore at Chinese NPI producers are expected to be depleted if the ban extends into April or spreads to other regions.
