According to the World Steel Association (WSA), steel production in 64 producing countries amounted to 161.7 million tons in July 2021, which is 3.3% higher than the level of July 2020.
African countries produced 1.3 million tonnes, up 36.9% from last year. Asia and Oceania cut steel production by 2.5% to 116.4 million tonnes.
The CIS countries increased steel production in July by 11.2% to 9.2 million tons, and the EU countries - by 30.3% - to 13.0 million tons. The rest of Europe increased production by 4.6% to 4.1 million tons.
The countries of North America increased steel production by 36% to 10.2 million tons, and South America - by 19.6% - to 3.8 million tons.
