China has significantly increased the production and consumption of stainless steel

In January-September 2021, Chinese metallurgical enterprises smelted 23.83 million tons of stainless steel, Metal Bulletin reports, citing data from the Association of Special Steel Producers of the People's Republic of China.

This volume is 1.89 million tons or 8.6% more than in the same period in 2020 (21.94 million tons).

Apparent consumption of stainless steel in China for 9 months is estimated by the association at 20.35 million tons, which is 1.85 million tons or 10% more than in January-September last year. Exports for this period reached 3.3 million tons.
