Turkey cuts import duties on cold-rolled stainless steel flat products

As reported by Yieh.com, according to a report published in the Turkish Official Gazette, Turkey has reduced the import duty on cold-rolled stainless steel flat products from 12% to 8%, which came into effect on January 1, 2022.

Eligible products have HS codes 721931000000, 721932100000, 721932900000, 721933100000, 721933900000, 721934100000, 721934900000, 721935100000, 721935900000, 722020210011, 722020290011, 722020410011, 722020490011, 722020208100.

Statistics from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) showed that imports of cold-rolled stainless steel flat products to Turkey amounted to approximately 275,500 tonnes in the first 11 months of 2021, of which China was the largest source of imports with approximately 94,100 tonnes. followed by 40,400 tons from Indonesia, 30,600 tons from Spain, 25,900 tons from Taiwan and 19,400 tons from Italy.
