Chinese stainless steel production in the first quarter was 8.011 million tons, up 4.1% from the fourth quarter of last year, but 8% less than the same period last year.
US stainless steel production in the first quarter was 569,000 tons, up 5.7% from the fourth quarter of last year, but down 8.8% from the same period last year.
During this period, China accounted for 55.4% of world stainless steel production.
