According to the latest data from WorldStainless, global stainless steel smelting production increased by 4.6% in 2023, reaching 58.4 million tons.
Chinese steel producers currently account for nearly two-thirds of global production, with a production volume of 36.7 million tons. The country is also the only region with output growth, with an annual growth rate of 12.6%.
The total production of factories in Japan, Taiwan, and India was 6.9 million tons, a decrease of 7.2%. The production of Europe and the United States was 5.9 million tons and 1.8 million tons, respectively, a decrease of 6.2% and 9.6%.
